The difference between Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass People ask this all the time. The CF hood arrives with a CF finish and DUPONT clear coat, ready to install. The FG hood arrives black gel coated. Your body shop will need to prep and primer it for paint. Weight is comparable between the two, CF is stronger, but both are great for car applications (those big cowl hoods at drag strips have been fiberglass for longer than we've all been alive!).

Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass Hood Fabrication Times CF Hood Fabrication usually take about 4-5 days. As all of our hoods are hand made to order, if there are orders ahead of you for that same hood you production will follow those. In every instance we attempt to fill your order asap. If you have a deadline please notify us and we can give you an estimated ETA. please allow for some leeway with your own scheduling as we never want to delay your own plans, but delays with shipping, materials, or even heavy order volumes can happen. Please order early enough that a delay will not effect your paint or show schedules.. plan ahead! We do not discount for not keeping to your schedule, we can only make them as fast as possible, first come, first served!

Hood Ordering Once your hood is ordered paperwork is done asap and it usually goes right into production.

Cancellations (all products) Cancellations at any time will result in a cancellation fee (20%-40% depending on nature of product). We attempt to fill your order as fast as possible. Delays As with all products there can be unexpected delays from the manufacturer. Sometimes parts can be backordered, and that delay is out of our control. If you have a deadline PLEASE let us know and we will get you an ETA before you order. We do not like to delay your project. That said, usually all products ship quickly; this message is for those projects that are especially time critical. Shipping Contact Information When you order, please include a contact phone number. We always email you if you do not provide it at ordering. We will ship to you if you do not provide it, but be aware that if they cannot contact you, the item may be returned undelivered, and you will have to pay for another delivery. Therefore, please fill out the order form entirely when you order, including contact phone number. Or simply respond when we ask for it. We do not use your phone number at all unless there is an issue. International Shipping Any fees that a country may charge for shipping are the buyers responsibility and must be paid by the buyer. It is impossible for us to know what your countries current laws and taxes/customs charges might be. Returns All hoods are custom made to order and therefore sold as-is and are not returnable. In the event we determine an instance requires a return for a reason such as we sent the incorrect hood, we may give a return authorization #. We are located in Southern California. Please keep this in mind and note that because of the high cost of shipping a hood, shipping is never refundable. There are no returns on custom items unless we determine them to be damaged in shipping. This can usually be done in emails with pictures. If an item is damaged in shipping we will decide if/how it will be picked up and replaced once a claim has been filed and accepted byt he shipping company. This will require pictures in most cases if you cannot bring us the hood. ALWAYS INSPECT THE HOOD BEFORE YOU SIGN FOR IT FOR SHIPPING DAMAGE. Although shipping damage is not common, it can happen and once accepted the shipping company may not honor your claim as they do not know if it happened before or after. In this case typically the shipping company should refund the cost of shipping, and it will be replaced at no cost to you. Please keep in mind that shipping claims can take 2-3 months to clear through the shipping company. This is the only instance where shipping can be compensated; all other instances shipping in non-refundable. In the event we pick up a hood from you for any reason, it MUST be at a business location. The shipping company will not pick up from a residential address. ALL returns require a return authorization and are subject to a 50% restocking fee (or more depending on demand). Because of the typically high cost of shipping for these items, if you do not wish to ship, items can be dropped off at our Southern California location with authorization; email us for details. Other items, products Reutrns will be handled as exchanges if possible, and may incur a restocking fee. Absolutely no items may be exchanged without a return authorization being issued, and this is at our discretion. Items damaged in shipping or arriving with a factory defect, are typically exchanged very fast. *We reserve the right to adjust, update, or change any of the above policies on this page without notice.
