There's no such thing as a "universal kit". For a door conversion kit to be "universal", bolt patterns, doors, and fenders would all be the same. But we all know that's not the case... every vehicle is different.
There's other kits that claim to be universal, but they give you a kit for a Civic, and then tell you how to weld, cut, and drill the kit, and direct you to do things like rolling the fender. Most require a professional body shop to make the modifications.

| Here's what a rolled fender looks like. You cut it yourself. The VLS does NOT require any sort of modification like this! |
We don't believe you should have to make a kit for another car "fit" yours. That's why we make the kit specifically for the car model... application specific. This means the shock pressure is rated for your doors weight, the unit raises the door right up to your fenders clearance, the kits mounts up to your stock bolt patterns. This means your stock bolts come out, and they go right back into the same spot... no drilling or welding.
Now don't get me wrong... some people like the VLS kit much that they have decided to modify it to fit other vehicles like the Audi TT, Scion Coupe, the S-10 truck, a Dakota, and others. We just don't tell people it's "universal"... that's impossible.
Our belief here at Import Precision is that the kit should be made specifically for your car. We bring in each car we do a kit for and design a kit specially for that car. Using the heart of our VLS, we modify it to the exact specifications of that model year including a custom made shock, fender clearances, and bolt pattern.
That means that you get a kit made for YOUR car... not some other car, welded, cut, and drilled to try and fit something it was never intended for. |
